Are you listening?  Can you hear me?

I know you can hear me – but are you listening?  That’s the question.

Radio legend Larry King said – “I remind myself every morning: Nothing I say will teach me anything.  So if I am going to learn, I must do it by listening.”

HOW DO YOU know if you are listening?  If your boss is frustrated with your work – chances are you are not listening.  If you are fighting with your spouse you DEFINITELY AREN’T.  If you’re NOT closing sales then there is no chance you are.

SO what is listening?  It isn’t just the absence of you talking.  Listening is being interested in what the other person is saying.  It is always about being curious.

Why should you listen?  Great question – because every human being on the planet wants to be heard.  That includes your boss, your spouse and your prospect.

Success in business and in life will rely on your ability to have a conversation with another person.  There can be no conversation if there is no listening.  A conversation without listening is just talking at someone!!!

So here are three simple steps that can help you.  Ask a question, shut up and listen.  Relationships will form, problems will be solved and money can be made!
